Haunted Dancehall -Oneohtrix Point Never & More

Over two nights Haunted Dancehall will see over 40 artists - from the adjoining worlds of electronic, contemporary classical, ambient, hauntology, noise and experimental music - perform in five different rooms throughout the National Concert Hall from 7pm to late. A startling new festival for Ireland’s iconic venue.
Daniel Lopatin is a Brooklyn-based musician, composer, and Mercury Prize nominated producer who also records and performs as Oneohtrix Point Never. Daniel has released numerous critically acclaimed albums including his most recent self-titled album, Magic Oneohtrix Point Never, a culmination of his work over the last ten years. He has collaborated with numerous artists including James Blake, Ishmael Butler, Kelsey Lu, Iggy Pop, Rosalia and his production credits include The Weeknd, Anohni, FKA Twigs, David Byrne, Moses Sumney and Nine Inch Nails among others.
In 2018 he premiered a sold-out live multimedia concert MYRIAD composed from his album Age Of (Warp 2018) at the Park Avenue Armory New York followed by sold-out performances at prestigious venues worldwide including The Barbican, London and Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles. His original film scores include Josh and Benny Safdie’s Uncut Gems and Good Time.
Dubliner Roger Doyle is known for his pioneering work as a composer of electronic music. He has worked extensively in theatre, film and dance, in particular, with the music theatre company Operating Theatre, which he co-founded with the actress Olwen Fouéré. ‘Babel, his magnum opus, which took ten years to compose, was released on a 5-CD set in 1999, and contains 103 pieces of music. A feature documentary film has just been made on him, directed by Brian Lally, called “The Curious Works of Roger Doyle’.
As a producer and composer, Delia Beatriz aka Debit drifts seamlessly from avant-garde and drone modes into experimental dance music without hesitation. In February 2022, Debit released The Long Count, an ambitious electro-acoustic tome that delves into the past to peer into the future, which was deemed Global Album of the Month by The Guardian. Using research she made into Mayan wind instruments, Beatriz developed digital instruments and harnessed machine learning to compose music that feels completely out of time.
Japanese vocal artist Hatis Noit released her debut album Aura on Erased Tapes in June 2022. A breath-taking work it showcases the dexterity of Noit’s voice, and of the human voice in general.
gush play original pop music from the heart of Dublin.
Fears is Irish artist, musician and producer Constance Keane. Combining reflective electronics, acoustic samples, and haunting vocals with organic visuals, Fears invites the listener on an ethereal journey, blurring the boundaries between music and visual art. Her minimalist approach centres on emotive subjects, which are all-at-once deeply personal yet remarkably universal.
Meitei’s releases on labels such as Evening Chants (Singapore) and Metron (Berlin) set the tone for Meitei’s music. He has a simple story. He wanted to tell the story of Japan’s ‘lost mood’, something listeners may relate to from hearing the long histories and enviable breadth of Japanese ambient music, in all its guises, stretching back decades,
The night also includes a live set from independent Irish electronica artist Sunken Foal as well as DJ sets from Emmy Shigeta, Cáit, Tr One and Sunil Sharpe.
