Free Event from 14:00 - 17:00.

A celebration of queer theatre, music and visual art in Cork curated by Abbey Blake and produced by Arann Blake of punk band Pretty Happy in collaboration with LGBTQ+ artists from Cork city – a vibrant and fun feast of alternative culture.
Happenings in the park include a fascinating visual art story trail featuring radio play-style stories by queer individuals. An intriguing fortune-teller invites you to hear your queer Tarot reading with specially designed queer tarot cards by artist Emer Kiely. Cork artist Padraic Barrett and theatre-maker Rosa Mäkelä present playful carnival-style installations and games, while Plugd Records will spin tunes for the afternoon. Local creative collaborations and guest artist appearances ensure a fun experience for all ages. Tasty treats will be served by local vendors (My Goodness, Volcano Pizza) and the day will culminate in a musical performance by some of Cork’s finest artists including Elaine Malone, I Dreamed I Dream, and Kevin Terry.
Creative Parks is an annual partnership between Cork City Council’s Culture and Creativity Team and Cork Midsummer Festival, collaborating with artists and communities to develop a family-friendly creative day within a local park.
Supported by Cork City Council QUARE is supported by the Creative Ireland Programme, an all-of-government five year initiative, from 2017 to 2022, which places creativity at the centre of public policy. Further information from creativeireland.gov.ie
